There are up to 50 000 ethnic Albanians in Sweden. They come from all Albanian dominated parts of the Balkans (see Great Albania)[citation needed]. Many Albanians came from Kosovo in early 1990s because of the wars in the Balkans (se Yugoslav wars).

"Albanska Riksförbundet Iliria"(Lidhja e Shoqatave Shqiptare në Suedi) is an Albanian organisation in the Swedish town Borlänge. This organisation is democratic and non-religious. The goals for this organisation is to work for the ethnic Albanian people in Sweden, to integrate them into the Swedish society etc.[1]
