Alt Empordà (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈaɫt əmpurˈða], "Upper Empordà") (Spanish: Alto Ampurdán) is a comarca (county) in Girona, Catalonia, Spain, one of two into which Empordà was divided by the comarcal division of Catalonia in 1936. [1]
