Behance is a platform for creative people and teams to showcase and discover creative work. It is a product of New York-based company Behance, Inc.,[1] which has also created other services meant to organize creative people and support creative careers.
The Behance Network[edit]
The Behance Network[2] is an online portfolio platform for creative professionals across multiple industries, including photography, graphic design, illustration, and fashion. Organizations such as the AIGA,[3] Adweek,[4] and Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum[5] have partnered with the Behance Network to create galleries of creative work. Behance powers online galleries for several art and design institutions, such as Art Center College of Design,[6] Rhode Island School of Design (RISD),[7] and School of Visual Arts (SVA).[8] The company has also been vocal on the topic of crowdsourcing.[9]
In July 2010, Behance announced a collaboration with LinkedIn to provide portfolio display capabilities on LinkedIn profiles.[10][11]
In December 2012, Behance was acquired by Adobe.[12][13]
ProSite[edit]
ProSite[14] is a personal portfolio site builder that syncs with the Behance Network.[2] Members of the Behance Network use ProSite to build and customize portfolio websites that live on their own URL. These sites display members’ projects from the Behance Network in a personalized environment.[15][16]
Served sites[edit]
Content from the Behance Network gets fed into a network of sites called the Served sites,[17] which display work in specific categories such as Fashion Served,[18] Industrial Design Served,[19] Motion Graphics Served,[20] Photography Served,[21] Typography Served,[22] as well as partnership with fashion magazine Tokion to create Tokion Served.[23] In September 2010, 5 more Served Sites were launched, including Branding Served,[24] Digital Art Served,[25] Illustration Served,[26] Toy Design Served,[27] and Web Design Served.[28] In April 2012, 5 more Served Sites were launched, including Advertising Served,[29] Architecture Served,[30] Art Served,[31] Character Served,[32] Packaging Design Served.[33]
Action method[edit]
Action Method is a productivity methodology[34] targeting creative professionals.[35] This includes a line of paper products,[36] an online application called Action Method Online,[37] and a mobile application.[38]
