Book at Bedtime is a long-running radio programme on BBC Radio 4, broadcast each weekday evening at 10.45–11.00 pm.
Book at Bedtime offers fiction, including modern classics, new works by leading writers and literature from around the world. Books are abridged and serialised each evening typically over a period of two weeks, sometimes one and occasionally three, in the case of a very long book. They are usually read by well-known actors. Occasionally, if a renowned author has brought out a collection of short stories, five stories from the book will be selected and one broadcast each evening, rather than serialising a novel.
Book at Bedtime is part of the BBC's Arts and Drama series.
