"Wild At Heart" (Spanish title: "Corazón Indomable") is a Mexican telenovela produced by Nathalie Lartilleux for Televisa. It is a remake of Marimar, produced in 1994, and starring Thalía and Eduardo Capetillo.
Ana Brenda Contreras and Daniel Arenas star as the protagonists, while Rocio Banquells, Isadora Gonzalez, Ingrid Martz, Elizabeth Álvarez, Carlos de la Mota and René Strickler star as the antagonists.
On February 25, 2013, Canal de las Estrellas started broadcasting Corazón indomable weekdays at 4:25pm, replacing Corona de lágrimas. The last episode was broadcast on October 6, with Por Siempre mi Amor replacing it the following day. Production of Corazón Indomable officially started on January 18, 2013.
On May 13, 2013, Univision started broadcasting Corazón indomable weeknights at 7pm/6c, replacing Corona de lágrimas. From November 22 to November 29, Univision aired 2 hours of Corazón indomable, replacing Porque el amor manda. On December 2, Por Siempre mi Amor replaced one hour of Corazón Indomable and is currently broadcast weeknights at 8pm/7c. The last episode was broadcast on December 22, with Mentir Para Vivir replacing it the following day. Corazón indomable is also the second telenovela to end on a Sunday after Amores verdaderos.
Maricruz Olivarez lives with Ramiro, her maternal grandfather, and Soledad (sometimes called Solita), who is Deaf and who was abandoned when she was a little baby by her mother. She lives in a shack located in the middle of nature, near the Narváez's Ranch property line. Miguel and Octavio are siblings and they both own the Narvaez's Ranch, which is mortgaged because of the bad administration of Miguel, the older brother, has made. Octavio is a pilot and arrives in the ranch in need of money since he has lost his job and wants the lands to be sold. He doesn't imagine that soon he will forget this purpose and will discover that the earth, the sowing and sharing with the workmen become a source of passion for him.
Octavio meets Maricruz while he is traveling around the lands and catches his foreman mistreating her. Regardless of her humble origins, he defends her as a gentleman. Immediately, he is trapped by her sympathy and beauty. When Octavio discovers the malice with which Lucía, his sister-in-law, treats Maricruz, he gets really angry and decides to marry Maricruz in order to teach his brother and Lucía a lesson.
However, when he receives a tempting job offer as a co-pilot, Octavio leaves the ranch and asks his brother to give Maricruz his part of the land. Lucía and her cousin Esther set a trap for Maricruz to her unjustly of being a thief and put her in jail. Lucía tricks Maricruz by giving her a necklace telling her that it belonged to Octavio's mother. When it was really an anniversary gift from Miguel. She asks her if she loves Octavio a lot and asks her to show her how much he loves him and throws the necklace into a mud puddle in the middle of a cactus garden. Lucía asks Maricruz to pick up the necklace with her teeth. Fortunately, a lawyer believes in her and gets her freed; upon leaving the prison she learns that a fire took the life of his grandfather, and ignores is that everything was the work of Lucia.
Maricruz leaves to the capital city with her sister Solita and some money that Lucía and Miguel give her. Maricruz goes to a motel named Serafina's Motel. She starts looking for work. She first goes to Mr. Alejandro's mansion recommended by Ms. Serafina where his butler Tobias opens the door. He mistakes her for a beggar and tells her to ask for alm at the back door of the kitchen. Maricruz talks to him the way that she does and takes her tone of voice as disrespectful and tells her to leave. When Maricruz returns to Serafina's Motel she finds her sister scared and crying. Ms. Serafina then recommends her to go to a job collocation office where a job is found for her the next day. She starts working as a nanny, but she is only able to last a couple of minutes because the four kids are very rowdy. The job collocation office doesn't receive the assigned commission. The day after Maricruz returns to the office where another job is found for her this time as a maid in the Mendoza Residence. Alejandro happens to be her father, both of them ignore the truth about the bond between them. Maricruz gains his trust and love, and he helps her to get educated and become a high society woman. In the meantime she accepts to help him with the administration of the casino in a cruise ship, posted in Isla Dorada. There she will have to face the ambition of the Canseco sisters Carola and Raiza, who keep their lives comfortable at Alejandro's cost. Alejandro's butler discovers Maricruz's birth certificate where her real name appears: María Alejandra Mendoza Olivarez. In order to avoid the big impression that could kill Alejandro, since he suffers from a heart disease, he decides not to reveal him that Maricruz is his daughter, but he does tell her the truth and she feels very happy with such news.
Miguel informs his brother that Maricruz disappeared after her grandfather's death. Octavio arrives in the casino, invited by his friend Eduardo. Octavio's good looks catch the interest of sophisticated women and he feels flattered, but he cannot forget Maricruz. He doesn't imagine that the humble youngster who used to be his wife is no other than the elegant María Alejandra Mendoza, the manager and main hostess of the boat-casino.
Octavio tries to get María Alejandra's attention. He is impressed by the great resemblance to his wife. Maricruz hides her pregnancy and gives birth to a beautiful girl who she names Guadalupe (who is most of the times called Lupita). Soon, Alejandro's health worsens and he decides to sign the papers that will make Carola the only owner of the boat-casino. Maricruz impedes him that he signs those papers and decides to confesse to Mr. Alejandro that she is his daughter; María Alejandra Mendoza Olivarez he dies happy and reconciled with her. Maricruz still playing with her split personality and gets Octavio dying of love for her, until he starts confessing he is sorry for leaving Maricruz. Maricruz believes that it is time to get back at Lucía and decides to set up a mud puddle in front of a rose garden. She tells Lucía that if she doesn't want Miguel to be put in prison for signing promissory notes and not paying them off on time then she will have to take them out with her teeth. She has made a great fortune, and strikes again at Miguel and Lucía by buying their property the Narváez Ranch and fulfills her desire to humiliate Miguel and Lucía.
Maricruz and Octavio will test their love to discover if together they can correct the mistakes of the past and start a new life with their daughter.
