Derek Jansen Lilliquist (born February 20, 1966), is a retired professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1989 to 1996. Lilliquist was the Atlanta Braves' first-round pick (sixth overall) in the 1987 MLB Draft after pitching two seasons at the University of Georgia. On May 1, 1990, at Atlanta, Lilliquist become of the few pitchers to have a multi-homer game when he hit two home runs off Ron Darling in a Braves' 5-2 victory.[1]
He later became a minor league pitching coach for the St. Louis Cardinals and was named as their major league bullpen coach on November 2, 2010.[2] On January 6, 2012, the Cardinals announced that Lilliquist would replace Dave Duncan as pitching coach for the St. Louis Cardinals.[3]
