Marcus Murphy (born October 3, 1991) is an American football running back and return specialist for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Missouri.[1] While at Missouri, he was named as a First-team All-SEC selection in 2014. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft.[2]

Professional career[edit]

New Orleans Saints[edit]

Murphy was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round, 230th overall, of the 2015 NFL Draft.[3] He was mainly used on special teams, where he returned a punt for a touchdown in a Week 3 game against NFC South division rival Carolina.

On July 26, 2017, Murphy was waived by the Saints.[4]

New York Jets[edit]

On July 27, 2017, Murphy was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets.[5] On September 3, 2017, he was waived by the Jets and was signed to the practice squad the next day.[6][7] He was released on October 3, 2017.[8]

Indianapolis Colts[edit]

On October 9, 2017, Murphy was signed to the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad.[9] He was released on October 24, 2017.[10]

Buffalo Bills[edit]

On November 6, 2017, Murphy was signed to the Buffalo Bills' practice squad.[11] He was promoted to the active roster on December 26, 2017.[12]
