Prasad's IMAX is centrally Air Conditioned multiplex of an area of 2,35,000 sq ft, houses South India’s first IMAX Theatre, a five screen multiplex, food court, multinational fast food outlets, a gaming zone and a Shopping mall covering two levels of the complex.[1]

It is South India's First IMAX theater and India's 3rd IMAX theater.[2][3] It is also the single most popular IMAX theater in the world. Its 72-foot high, 95-foot wide screen is accompanied by 635 seats and a 12,000-watt sound system. It is world's largest 3D-IMAX screen. The Prasads IMAX made its name by being the most attended screen in the world for major blockbusters like the Harry Potter and Spiderman movies.[4]

Prasads IMAX of the L. V. Prasad group, was inaugurated on July 25, 2003[5] at the premises of the historical "Hussain Sagar Thermal Power Station" after its demolition, which was supposed to be South India's first thermal power plant.

The IMAX facility possesses a 6-channel sound system with an output of 12,000 watts of uncompressed digital surround sound.

Its IMAX screen achieved record attendance for the movies Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Spider-man 2 and Spider-man 3 and also achieved Number 1 status for highest box office for Spider-man 3 in the IMAX format internationally. [6]

In May 2011, Prasads became the first Green theatre in India by installation of a 100KWp Solar PhotoVoltaic power generation system on its rooftop.[7]
