Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is an upcoming steel roller coaster at Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. It is part of a major expansion of Fantasyland and is based upon the classic story of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first animated feature film that Walt Disney made.
Recent conceptual artwork for the expansion shows several new additions and changes. The Magic Kingdom's original Snow White attraction, Snow White's Scary Adventures, was permanently closed on May 31, 2012. Princess Fairytale Hall, a new Disney Princess meet and greet, has been established where Snow White's Scary Adventures formerly existed. A new area themed to Disney's 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will feature Snow White's cottage along with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster, set to open in Spring 2014.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be a steel roller coaster built by Vekoma. The ride will travel both indoors and outdoors just like Frontierland's big rides, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain. Unlike some other Disney roller coasters, such as California Screamin' and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, this attraction will be designed to appeal to a family oriented crowd. It will feature a new ride system which simulates the swaying and tipping one would expect to experience in a mine cart.
Songs such as Heigh-Ho and The Silly Song will also be included in this attraction. It has been confirmed[by whom?] that some show elements from the demolished Snow White's Scary Adventures attraction (Minus the Haunted Forest and the Witch Audio-Animatronics from the attraction) will be re-used in the attraction, such as the vultures from the end of the defunct ride.
