Todd Davis (born May 17, 1992) is an American football linebacker for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Sacramento State University and attended Paraclete High School in Lancaster, California. He has also been a member of the New Orleans Saints.

Early years[edit]

Davis played high school football for the Paraclete High School Spirits. He was named first team all-state small schools as a senior after recording 119 tackles, including three sacks.[1]

College career[edit]

Davis played for the Sacramento State Hornets from 2010 to 2013. In 2010, Davis recorded 21 total tackles as a freshman. In 2011, Davis finished with 96 total tackles averaging 8.7 per game, one sack, 5.5 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, and one interception as a sophomore. In 2012, Davis finished with 103 total tackles averaging 9.4 per game, 3.5 sacks, 13.5 tackles for a loss, one fumble recovered, and two pass breakups as a junior. In 2013, Davis finished with 131 tackles averaging 10.9 per game, five sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, two interceptions, four passes broken up, and one block as a senior.[1]

New Orleans Saints[edit]

Davis was signed by the New Orleans Saints on June 23, 2014 after going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was released by the Saints on August 31 and signed to the team's practice squad on September 1, 2014. He was promoted to the active roster on October 18, 2014.[3] Davis made his NFL debut on October 19, 2014 against the Detroit Lions.[4] He was released by the Saints on November 12, 2014.[3]

Denver Broncos[edit]

2014 Season[edit]

Davis signed with the Denver Broncos on November 13, 2014.[3] Davis made his Broncos debut on November 23 vs. Miami Dolphins, playing 15 special-teams snaps and tallying a special-teams tackle. He made his first career start at middle linebacker on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals and finished with a career-high seven tackles (3 solo). He played in six games (2 starts) with the Broncos, totaling 17 tackles (9 solo), two passes defensed and two special-teams stops.

2015 Season[edit]

Davis appeared in all 16 regular-season games (2 starts) and all three of Denver’s postseason games, finishing with 14 tackles (11 solo) and seven special-teams stops. He also played in the AFC Divisional Playoff Game vs. Steelers, in the AFC Championship Game vs. Patriots and the Super Bowl 50 victory vs. Panthers.

2016 Season[edit]

Davis led the team with 97 tackles (64 solo) and added 0.5 sacks, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

2017 Season[edit]

On March 7, 2017, the Broncos placed a second round restricted free agent tender on Davis.[5]

2018 Season[edit]

On March 14, 2018, Davis signed a three-year, $15 million contract extension with the Broncos.[6]
